The garden and footbridge over the highway A86 is conceived as a whole, as an urban link between the various public spaces of the city of Colombes. Set in the Seine’s riverbed, under the influence of its dynamics, the project’s public spaces interact with the watercourse, notably through the subsoil and its possible overflows. The footbridge and garden are set in a seemingly fragmented site, by the A86, by the Tram set for upcoming construction on the avenue, and by the semi-buried parking lot to the north. The feeling of continuity between these spaces is created by carefully integrating uses and comfort of movement for all, and by installating a recreated landscape that forms a new natural base to the area. This dual approach, based on use and landscape, makes it possible to hybridize different objects. The Colombus garden, which brings together the north garden in the open ground and the south garden on a parking slab, tells the story of a river and the various environments connected to it.
