Choisy Street

Rue de Choisy is a residential street in the center of Alfortville. This 320 m-long, 10 to 15 m-wide street is punctuated by a mix of single-family homes and small apartment buildings. The existing street is entirely asphalt-covered, with no planting.
The creation of planted borders and spaces for planting trees represented a real challenge in a street regularly segmented by entrances to private plots and with the numerous existing networks. Each site was carefully designed to accommodate trees in the best possible conditions. These plantings help to infiltrate some of the rainwater from the sidewalks in this medium-hazard flood zone.
The new layout of the street has made it possible to install a genuine continuum of accessibility for all, on the sidewalks for people with limited mobility and on the roadway for soft means of transport, with the installation of a contra-sens cycle lane.
